Learn the ancient and ever-evolving art of poetry! Students will explore reading, writing and performing poetry while learning the rhetorical features of poetry. Lessons will include features and styles of poetry, such as imagery, alliteration, stream of consciousness, sonnets, acrostic, free form and many more. Each student poem will have its own fun, dramatic, or competitive performance by the writer or classmates, enhancing students’ communication/oration skills. Once students complete a poem, the instructor will guide them in the publishing process.
